Creekside Baseball has advanced to the state playoffs for the first time in 6A under 3rd year head coach, Martin Seay. “If the team plays to its full potential, we can make some noise in the playoffs,” Coach Seay stated. He’s looking forward to the opportunity to compete and so are the players. Senior Brison Finney added, “We’ve grown since last season. Our coaches have encouraged the mindset to finish strong.” Brison will be continuing his baseball career at Kennesaw State University next season. Two players who may have a similar opportunity in the future are Junior Donovan Bentley and Sophomore Eduardo DeSantos.
Donovan said that this has been the best of his three years in the program. “We have developed as a team and plan to be contenders. We’re going into the playoffs ready to compete,” he said. Eduardo agreed. “We started slow, but learned from our mistakes. We’ve put up a good fight against the best schools in our region,” he stated. This young squad is reminiscent of Creekside’s last state playoff team that included Travious Relaford and Demondre Arnold who both went on to play in the San Francisco Giants organization. With only two seniors on the roster and a JV team that finished with just two losses, we are excited about what’s to come for Creekside Baseball.
